Boulevard du Général de Gaulle
Boulevard du Général de Gaulle has been converted into an urban boulevard promoting soft transport modes.
Started in April 2005, the redevelopment work on the public spaces of the boulevard du Général de Gaulle transformed this former thoroughfare into an urban boulevard shared by all modes of transport, including cars, public transportation in dedicated lanes, pedestrians and bicycles.
Whereas in the past the boulvard cut the area in two, today it is easy to cross from one side to the other.
The objectives were to reduce traffic, promote soft transport modes and connect the neighbourhoods with roads that are easy to cross. Since November 2006, the Busway has been circulating in the central part of the boulevard du Général de Gaulle.
