Les Forges Young Workers Foyer

Renovation of the Port Beaulieu Young Workers Foyer

At the heart of the new Fonderies district, the Les Forges Foyer (45 social rent accommodations) is the first phase in the renovation of the Port-Beaulieu Young Workers Foyer.

The Port-Beaulieu Foyer has been undergoing significant renovation work since 2006, with 4 buildings built and 2 demolished.

The construction and demolition is being done while the residents are still housed at the site.

In September 2007, residents moved into the "Les Forges" building to allow for demolition-reconstruction work on the main Foyer building.

Les Forges is located across from the Fonderies garden, in a rehabilitated warehouse.

This is an exemplary project in terms of energy efficiency.

The "Les Forges" development receives funding from the European Commission for its energy efficiency, under the Act2 project of the Concerto Initiative.
