Yléo (Tripode Block A)
A new district in the dynamic spirit of Euronantes
Just a stone's throw from the historic city centre, on the eastern part of the Ile de Nantes, a new district is being created on the former site of the Tripode, a 17-story building built in the 1970s which housed administrative services. This site is a rare opportunity for Nantes to develop a new district, in the spirit of the dynamic Euronantes business park project.
Block A
20,000 sq. m of office space, 8000 sq. m of hotel accommodations and 9000 sq. m of shops, 141 housing units, including 25 social rent apartments.
The objectives of Nantes Métropole:
- develop a business park in the heart of the city
- increase the offering of the city-centre compared to the suburbs
- create a commercial real estate offering meeting the requirements of major corporations
- confirm the position of Nantes as one of the most dynamic business centres
This new district will feature an attractive commercial offering, as well as housing, shops and services, in a setting that takes advantage of the Loire, creating a point of contact between the city and the river, thanks to an original and ambitious public space initiative conducive to community building. In all, blocks A and B will consists of more than 100,000 sq. m. The cornerstone of the project is the redevelopment of the Tripode site. The Tripode was a very tall building that couldn't be converted, and was demolished in 2005 due to asbestos issues.
The Euronantes - Tripode Block A receives funding from the European Commission for its energy efficiency, under the ACT2 project of the Concerto Initiative.
