Tripode District
This new district will provide an attractive tertiary offering, as well as housing, shops and services, in an area that takes advantage of its proximity to the Loire to reconnect the city with the river, via an original and ambitious public space project that aims to create a vibrant community.
Developed in the 1970s around the old Tripode building, this area today is a jumble of buildings spread out over 21 hectares.
Today the redevelopment project is creating a new diverse neighbourhood as part of the Euronantes Business Park, combining businesses, housing, shops and public facilities (nearly 95,000 sq. m to be built) in a lovely setting for walking, biking and appreciating the Loire.
Like the other Ile de Nantes sites, the Tripode project was designed based on discussions with all the stakeholders involved.
Diversity, in terms of functions, populations and architecture, is one of the key features of the project. Offices, apartments, shops, recreational areas and green spaces are all on hand so that families and business people can share a common space at the heart of the city. The proximity to the Loire helps reconnect the area to the river, and pedestrian and bike paths have been created. In the centre, two landscaped pools of 1500 and 2000 sq. m naturally purify the rainwater run-off from the public spaces and the neighbouring real estate development.
