Alstom District
Public Space Redevelopment
Acquired in 2002 by Nantes Métropole, the Alstom site was transferred to SAMOA in September 2004 with a view to the global transformation of the site. In late 2004, the public space redevelopment project was awarded to the Comptoir de Projets.
The former industrial site, once private and closed off, has been transformed into a vibrant neighbourhood, where new streets and public spaces have created a pedestrian and bicycle friendly community with stunning views of the Loire.
The area now features large public spaces and esplanades surrounded by lush greenery.
