Résidetapes (Tripode block B)
136 studios for young working people
Résidétapes is designed for young professionals, students, jobseekers, interns or others who need a temporary place to live. The residence in Nantes opened in November 2009, and is the sixth Résidétapes development in France since the program started in 2003. Rising 33 metres high, it overlooks the three office buildings on the same block.
The studios measure 20 sq. m and are fully furnished. The building rises 11 floors and features two elevators with transparent shafts and corridors with natural lighting. There are two lounges for family visits, a shared laundry facility and a conference room available to the residents. The second floor features a water garden with aquatic plants that are part of the rainwater management system.
- 85% of residents are under the age of 30
- 90% have a net monthly income that is less than or equal to the minimum wage.
- 65% of applications are from people seeking their first individual apartment.
- The average length of stay is 11 months. However, stays can range from three months to two years.
The residence is extremely energy efficient, with its compact design, exterior insulation on the east and west facades, collective heating via the district heating network, a rainwater collection system on the upper terrace to supply the aquatic garden and the ponds, etc.
The rent ranges from 470 € to 495 € per month. Taking into account the state-funded housing allowance, residents can pay as little as 295 € per month for a studio. The residence has attracted employees of the Insee, the Hospital and the Beaulieu shopping centre. There is a social worker on site to assist the tenants as needed.
