The School of Communication SciencesCom, the local television station Télénantes and a new business space in the Creative District.
Inspired by the German mediencampus designed to bring students into closer contact with businesses, the first French Mediacampus will open in September 2016 in the Creative District. The School of Communication SciencesCom (part of Audencia), the local television station Télénantes and a number of service businesses will all be housed in the same building.
At Mediacampus, the focus will be on teaching, producing and broadcasting content, and students will benefit from Télénantes’ expertise and equipment while bringing a fresh perspective on new media and digital culture.
The 5,800 sq. m building - whose facade made of black, white and grey bricks calls to mind pixels - will feature five levels. It will include:
- A television studio and a radio studio on the ground floor;
- Classrooms and common areas on the first, second and third floors,
- 700 sq. m of divisible office space for businesses on the fourth and fifth floors.
This new campus will join other institutions of higher education on the Ile de Nantes, including the School of Architecture, ESMA/Cinécréatis and the School of Fine Arts (in 2018), contributing to the emergence of an ecosystem focused on innovation.
